Melissa Maker, owner and creator of Clean My Space, still cannot believe she is in the cleaning business.  An admitted ‘self-made princess’, she always dreamed that her entrepreneurial desires would lead her to a glamorous business.   Nonetheless, Melissa has put aside her stilettos and dresses and brought her vision, passion, background, experience and elbow grease to the business.  Her hard work has paid off! 

Clean My Space is a well-known cleaning service catering to the needs of condo and apartment suite dwellers.  

Melissa is a graduate of the Schulich School of Business at York University and finished with specializations in entrepreneurial studies and international business.  She left her job as a commercial banker in 2006 to pursue her lifelong dreams of being an entrepreneur.  Although not sure of which business to endeavor in at the time of her departure, she always remained attuned to the opportunities surrounding her. 

The business idea came about in an interesting and inspiring way.  Melissa is involved in real estate and had to visit a property of hers one auspicious day to clean a flooded basement.  After seeing the way the tenants cared for the small townhouse, she became frustrated because of their lack of dedication to the space.  After that day, she was determined to create a company which cleaned and cared for properties – not only to make the space a pleasurable place to live for the tenant or owner, but to increase the longevity of the property and its elements and fixtures. 

Melissa applied this concept to the hottest real estate market – Condos.  Now, Clean My Space has emerged into a service which is sought after by many and perfected by few: reliable, trustworthy, and quality cleaning services specifically designed for the condo and apartment suite market.   Her vision is to take Clean My Space across North America and clean condos continent-wide!
